Breck's Steakhouse Restaurant:

A Charleston Staple Since 1961

In 1961, after 22 years of serving the US Navy, John Breckenridge and his wife Catherine opened up a small bar and grill at the corner of Ashley Phosphate Road and Rivers Avenue. Their goal was to offer great food and excellent service in a fun and casual atmosphere at an affordable price.

A half-century later, Breck's Steakhouse remains a veteran family and locally owned business dedicated to those very same principles. Many things have changed since 1961, but Breck's is still serving fresh, hand-cut steaks in huge portions as well as made-from-scratch specialties and desserts. Down-home classics prepared daily by hand in our kitchen, just like Mrs. Breckenridge did. Our philosophy has always been simple: treat our customers like family and they will keep coming back….and they have, in many cases 4 and even 5 generations!

C’mon by and see us, and we think you will understand why Breck's has remained a Lowcountry tradition since 1961!
